Sorens has been handling extensive budgets during most of his 27-year career as an insurance and financial services specialist. He stepped into Life Assurance Operations in the 1990s and quickly demonstrated exceptional capabilities – he was appointed as Underwriter five years later. In 2000, his talent was acknowledged by British American Insurance Company in Mauritius; he rapidly climbed the ladder as Project Manager – New Life Operations System, Operations Manager, Vice President – Technical Services, Senior Vice President – Business and Channel Development, Deputy CEO/Principal Officer in Botswana. He is currently working as Chief Technical Officer at National Insurance Company in Mauritius. As freelance consultant, Sorens was also called to review the distribution channels for an insurance company in Lagos Nigeria.
Having successfully led teams of more than 750 people, Sorens was selected as finalist for Sales Director of the Year in the British Excellence Sales and Marketing Award (BESMA) in 2010 after demonstrating his exceptional achievement in Sales.
Sorens holds an Executive MBA and is a qualified member of the Chartered Insurance Institute UK. He holds a fellow member of the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management and Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance – Certified Insurance Professional.

Fiifi Simpson is an insurance professional with over 30 years experience in Ghana. He is the Chief Executive Officer of GN Life Assurance Company Limited. He was the Managing Director of Vanguard Life Company Limited after serving as Deputy General Manager, Group Operations with Enterprise Life Assurance Company Limited. Fiifi was one of the four key persons who started the Enterprise Life company at its inception in Ghana.
He held various portfolios in Enterprise Life, ranging from Business Development Manager, Head of Corporate Risk, Sales and Marketing and Group Operations. He was also a Senior Life Underwriter at Ghana Reinsurance Company where he started his insurance career. Over the course of his career he has been responsible for the achievement of key milestones in the life insurance industry in Ghana. Among his key accomplishments are: the establishment of the Life Sales Model in Enterprise Life; the establishment of Corporate Business Department as well as the establishment of Bancassurance Model in Enterprise Life,- the very first in the insurance industry in August 2007 with Standard Chartered Bank; the introduction of Broker Model for Individual Life and the Church Funeral Scheme. Fiifi was the Country Project Manager on Bancassurance for Sanlam and was awarded as Champion for being the individual to have contributed the most to group Bancassurance at the first Sanlam/Stanchart annual bancassurance conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a critical contributor to the growth of the insurance industry, Fiifi is a founding Member of Life Offices Association of Ghana and was secretary of LOA for 7 Years. He has also been lecturing on short courses at the Ghana Insurance College. Fiifi holds a Bachelors of Science Insurance Option from the University of Ghana Business School; a Diploma in Insurance and Risk Management from the West Africa Insurance Institute and has participated in advance technical training at Swiss Re and other institutions like Hollandia Re and Hannover Re. He is also an old student of Adisadel College- Cape coast.
He has done attachments with several organizations in Africa such as Sanlam, Africa Life Assurance Company. James works with close to 80 clients across the region in all areas of consultancy at all levels of the value chain and he is also a member of the KPMG global insurance team, KPMG global insure-tech team, KPMG global IFRS17 team. Mr. Eli Hini is the General Manager for Mobile Financial Services (MFS) for MTN Ghana. Prior to Eli’s appointment, he was the Mobile Money Commercial Senior Manager, a role he has held since August 2008 within the Mobile Money, Sales & Distribution and Enterprise Business Unit. He has been instrumental in setting up Mobile Money in Ghana and growing the subscriber base, transaction volumes and value. He also led the MTN Ghana team to receive ISO certification (ISO/IEC 12007: 2013 certification) in 2016.
